Marist Colleges of Europe to Senegal and Thailand

Recently two students of the Marist College Saint Joseph d’Ollioules, France, along with a teacher, visited the Sainte Marie de Hann Educational Establishment in Dakar, where the African Marists and SMSM are involved. The school has 4500 pupils of 68 nationalities, and 250 teachers. Among the pupils 30% are Catholics and 70% Muslim. The school takes an open educational approach that perfectly integrates the mixing of origins, cultures and religions. Saint Joseph College sponsors the Dakar school which is completely dependent on private fund raising as they don’t receive any financing from the government. The two students were both very impressed by what they called  “a shattering experience of life’s lessons”.
